Handwoven cotton cushion cover inspired from traditional 'Asproploumia' designs from Cyprus. 'Aspro' in Greek means white and “ploumi” decoration.

Although the traditional design has been simplified, its characteristic intricate interweaving of weft among twisted warp threads, was used. Thus the Asproploumia lacy effect has been retained. Local -often historical- weaving techniques and patterns inform my pieces, in which they are often incorporated with a contemporary twist.
