Handwoven cushion cover with bright coloured stripes as used in the Cypriot traditional Lefkoniko weaving. The basic colours, red, orange, yellow, green and blue give the cushion cover a happy carefree look.

Small cross like designs -the stavrouthkia- decorate some of the wide stripes. They are in woven, as in the traditional way by counting the warp threads and inserting the coloured threads forming the cross-like designs among them. Nowadays very few old women carry on doing lefkoniko weaving so I am trying to preserve the Lefkoniko technique through this design.
